Exercise Saved My Life

As a boy, physical activity was something that I never thought about. It was just something we did for fun. A typical day included riding my bike around town to hang out with friends… followed by pick up football and basketball games until the sun went down.

You don’t really see that anymore.

As I got older exercise became a passion of mine.

The harder I worked the better I looked and felt about myself. It was addicting.

This lead me to showing others what I was learning. I still remember in college when I was supposed to be having an open discussion about Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet I was secretly reading personal training articles on exercises I was going to perform later that day with a friend.

This passion turned into a business. Opening CrossFit Naples has been one of my greatest life achievements.  As busy as I get I have never forgotten my first love. Exercise will always have a place in my heart. It’s part of me.

I don’t pretend I’m some Olympian training 2 hours a day. Most workouts last less than 15 minutes. I workout because it makes me happy.

Without exercise in my life, I never feel complete.

It has taught me so many valuable lessons.

I would consider my strengths as disciplined and mentally tough. These were only learned through exercise over the last 15 years.

I’m grateful every day that I get to train. Whether it’s with a friend or by myself I count my blessings for the opportunity to move the way I do.

I don’t know where I would be without exercise.
