CrossFit Naples in 2010

This photo came up on my Timehop so I thought I would share with you all. I followed by saying on my Facebook feed:

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. This was CrossFit Naples in 2011 after doing business for 4 months.

In August 2010 I took a teaching job as an English teacher. I quickly realized that I was not cut out for teaching. I just wasn’t happy. It had been 6 months since I had done any CrossFit coaching. In December I open up CrossFit Naples. I was only coaching a few classes in the evening but I had faith one day I would do this as a full time job.

Belief in yourself

I knew I was a great coach and that I could teach the methods of CrossFit to anyone. Opening a CrossFit gym wasn’t something I thought I could ever do. It wasn’t until one of my best friends continued to tell me that I should that I started to believe in myself to open up my own gym.

What CrossFit Naples was in 2010 and what is is today is great is everything I believe it could be. In my 2nd year of business I had 25 members in a 500 sq/ft facility. Today I’m in a 2,500 sq/ft facility with over 150 members. My vision has never changed. It has always been to affect as many people as I could to being healthier and happier individuals.

What they never tell you when you open up a business is there’s no such thing as a 9-5 schedule. You work as long as you need seven days a week. I didn’t pay myself a penny for the first 2 years. Everything I made went back into the business. I worked hard to grow CFN has fast and as healthy as I could.

I ended up teaching for 2 full years. Not because I wanted to but becuase the business wasn’t mature enough nor profitable enough for me to step down from a teaching salary. I would teach until 2pm, coach football until 5pm, then run CrossFit classes for 2-3 hours each night. That lasted 2 years. I was determinedto make my dream a reality.

My life is dedicated to being the best business owner and coach that I can be. I wake up and watch videos to make my classes better, I follow up with my coaches daily to see where I can help, I’m constantly looking for way to grow the business. It’s my greatest achievement to this point. I will do everything I can to make those who surround me healthier and happier.
